Good day friends, I hope you had a restful weekend and are geared up for the new week.
As we move forward with our Purpose Finder Series, I thought it would be a good idea to address a question I received from two of our community members over the weekend: Why does all of this matter? What’s the point?
Let’s dive in…
Let me start by asking you an important question: Are you living the life you chose or one you simply drifted into?
In the busyness of everyday life, it’s so easy to get swept along by the currents. I like to call these “defaults”. You wake up, you scroll, you work, you respond, you sleep. You chase what others are chasing. You do what others are doing, and before you know it, you’re living on autopilot.
But here’s the thing, every life has a design. The only question is did you choose yours?
The Power of Intentionality
At the heart of living a meaningful life lies one simple but powerful concept: intentionality.
Intentionality is about deciding how you want to live, who you want to be, and what you want to give your time, energy, and heart to. It’s the key that keeps you doing what you’re proud of, chasing what truly matters to you and leads you towards becoming who you actually want to become, not what the world or anyone else says you should be.
The sweet thing is, it doesn’t even matter what you choose to do with your life, so long as it is you who chooses it. That’s the real win. I have a friend who says I hate social media way too much, and maybe there’s some truth to it. Honestly, though, what I hate the most is that most people who spend half their time scrolling never really planned for it; it just became an embedded default. No one wakes up and says, “I will do 4 hours of TikTok today'“. (Okay, maybe those people are there, but please get the point😂)
The Danger of Default Living
If you don’t design your life with intention, you will end up living someone else’s design. Without intentionality, you’ll follow the expectations of family, the pressure of society, the highlight reels of social media and the mindless habits of modern life.
These may not necessarily be ‘bad’ sources of influence (debatable, but a story for another day), but accepting them by default is the problem. This will lead to living a life that you are not happy with, and it will not give you the happiness and fulfilment you so desire. On your deathbed, you may end up echoing one of the top 5 regrets of the dying: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about ownership.
It’s about choosing—again and again—who you want to be and how you want to live.
Personally, I’ve lived both lives. I’ve drifted without a clear destination, bouncing between extreme expectations of those I was with a the time. Believe me when I tell you, the absolute worst time of my life.
I’ve also tasted living intentionally, choosing each step with purpose, even when I didn’t have all the answers. The difference is night and day. When I committed to living intentionally aligned with my values, goals, and calling, life felt and was/is so much better!
Most importantly, I am no longer living by someone else’s defaults, I have charted my own path, and that’s the one I’m walking.
No one drifts their way into happiness. No one stumbles into meaning. These things are the fruit of intentionality, of deciding to be the author of your own story.
So to answer the question - Why does all of this matter? What’s the point?
The point is to ensure you are living the life that you choose, not the one built off a set of preselected defaults. The point of all this is INTENTIONALITY!
Have yourself a wholesome week.
